A half-day of practical business education built for the people running electrical and HVAC companies — and for the people you're counting on to run them next.

Program Overviews
Attracting & Retaining People in Electrical Contracting
Moderated Panel Discussion
Talent is the constraint that decides who grows and who gets left behind in electrical contracting today — and the answers look different depending on where you sit. This panel brings together an apprentice program director, small and large contractors, and a utility partner to give business owners and senior leaders a sharper, more complete picture of what is actually working, so you leave with something you can put to use the moment you get back to the office.
Moderated by Ed Tryon of Tryangle Consultants, the panel will include perspectives from:
• Marc Benson, Universal Academy
• Colleen Denmark, SKANSA USA Building
• Anthony Muhammad, AM Electric
• Eric Nash, PECO
• Gregory Weikel, Swartley Bros. Engineers
• Tyler Holleran, H.B. Frazer Company
Sales & Marketing ROI: Are Your Efforts Actually Making Money?
Craig Andrews, Beholder Agency | Evan Polin, Polin Performance Group
Most businesses spend real money on marketing but can't answer a simple question: is it actually making money? Marketing expert Craig Andrews and sales expert Evan Polin walk business owners and senior leaders through how to measure ROI as one connected system — from the first click to closed revenue — so you leave knowing which numbers to ignore, which numbers to trust, and three actions you can take the same week.
This interactive session will be led by Craig Andrews (Beholder Agency) and Evan Polin (Polin Performance Group) bring 45+ combined years of experience to the marketing-to-revenue conversation.
Craig helps business owners build integrated marketing systems that connect brand, digital presence, and lead generation to measurable growth.
Evan helps professional-services firms and B2B teams turn referrals and conversations into a repeatable, qualified pipeline — without the hard sell. Together, they cover the full arc from marketing activity to closed business.
How the Right Technology Protects Your Margins
David Gordon, Channel Marketing Group
Every contractor knows the drill: tight margins, materials that don't show up when they should, and too much time spent chasing information instead of running jobs. Technology gets talked about constantly—but most of it feels like someone else's solution to someone else's problem.
This session cuts through the noise. The right tech isn't about AI hype—it's about removing the friction that eats into your profit. Cleaner communication with suppliers, faster ordering, and product information that's actually accessible when you need it. When those handoffs work, jobs run smoother and margins hold.
Walk away with a clearer picture of which tools are worth your time and how to use them to get materials on site, projects executed, and profit protected.
Presented by David Gordon, the founder and principal of Channel Marketing Group, a consultancy serving electrical and lighting distributors, manufacturers, and manufacturer reps.
With 30+ years in B2B marketing and clients spanning more than 60 industries earlier in his career, he now focuses exclusively on helping channel businesses accelerate growth through strategy, market research, and marketing. He is a contributing writer for Electrical Wholesaling, Modern Distribution Management, TED Magazine, and Supply House Times, and publishes ElectricalTrends, a widely followed industry blog. He brings a data-driven, channel-specific lens to the technology and margin conversation.
Artificial Intelligence for Contractors: Using ChatGPT to Automate Your Business
Chris Smith, CEO & Co-Founder, AllContractor
Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology reserved for large corporations—it has become an affordable, practical tool that electrical contractors can use today to improve productivity, increase profitability, and gain a competitive advantage. This class introduces business owners to the fundamentals of AI, explains what large language models like ChatGPT are, and demonstrates how they can be used as a business assistant to solve everyday challenges.
Attendees will learn how to use ChatGPT to identify opportunities for automation across their company, including customer communications, scheduling, proposal writing, marketing, hiring, training, operations, and administrative tasks.
The course will also show how ChatGPT can help design AI-powered workflows that connect with existing business software to automate repetitive processes, allowing contractors to save time, reduce costs, improve customer service, and focus more on growing their business. Whether you're just getting started with AI or looking to expand its use throughout your company, this session will provide practical strategies and real-world examples that you can begin implementing immediately.
This session will be led by Chris Smith, the CEO and co-founder of All Contractor, a licensed HVAC contractor since 1997, and a nearly four-decade veteran of the trades. He started in the industry in 1989, ran his own residential and light commercial HVAC company, and built that field experience into a platform that now helps contractors automate marketing, operations, and customer service through AI. He is the author of multiple books on contractor growth and AI — including An Exhaustive Guide on AI for the Contractor — and speaks regularly at distributor meetings and contractor conferences across North America. His sessions focus on practical, implementable AI applications that move the needle on productivity, customer experience, and profitability.
