This year, members of the EAP will come together virtually for our annual Economic Symposium. We will very much miss the holiday party portion of this event and look forward to getting together in 2021! Grab a cocktail and join us as we recognize outgoing President, Pat Melvin (Rumsey Electric Company), and welcome incoming President, Russ deFuria (O’Brien Heating & Air Conditioning). The evening will feature keynote speaker, Christian Sokoll, President, DISC Corp.

Keynote Presentation: Industry Recovery and Opportunities – Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021!

Unprecedented. That word just about sums up 2020, doesn’t it? As one of the most challenging years comes to an end, join us as we gear up for 2021. Our speaker, Christian Sokoll, President of DISC Corp., will provide the audience with both a national and a regional forecast in light of two black swan events occurring this year (yes, there were two economically): the pandemic and growth of oil and gas. Before we look ahead, Chris will give us a short history on the Pennsylvania electrical economy before discussing how new market opportunities can be identified.

About the Speaker:

Christian Sokoll Chris’s lead up to his purchase of DISC Corp. in 2019 began more than 30 years ago working the counter and the phones and learning the electrical distribution business from the ground up. His increasing roles and responsibilities would take him from Spokane Washington to Phoenix AZ, Atlanta, GA, Seattle WA, Lexington KY, Charlotte NC, Chicago IL, Memphis TN, and now Houston TX. Market analytics and economic forecasting are his passions. Chris holds a BPS in Organizational Leadership from Roosevelt University and a Graduate Certificate in Finance from the University of Chicago.
